Nice to hear that ‘rhythm’... but what should my team do with it?

More than you think.
Rhythm in your organisation is not about rigid schedules or control. It is about structure, grip and predictability, so that people can perform without being overloaded. Teams function better when there is a clear rhythm.
What can you do?
Introduce fixed routines
Establish recurring working arrangements, clear schedules and logical structures. This will help your team keep an overview and avoid unnecessary stress.
Communicate at set times
Plan meetings at set times with a clear, concrete, goal-oriented agenda. Keep everyone connected and prevent things from falling between the cracks.
Reflect and improve continuously
Schedule regular feedback and team reflections. This will help your team improve and avoid repeating mistakes.
Set clear goals and expectations
Give direction. Formulate clear goals and deadlines, and agree on who is responsible for what. This motivates and increases commitment.
Rhythm does not mean that everything has to be tightly organised. You provide structure and therefore space for your own input, improvisation and creativity. It means there is a basis on which people can build and that gives confidence. And trust leads to better performance. Moreover, structure gives more freedom and flexibility, also for you as entrepreneur or manager.
Koen Thijssen - CEO Insify after a Business Beat workshop
"Super good workshop on the importance of a clear drum beat in terms of meetings within the organisation, and the freedom this rhythm brings. No other workshop lets your team experience this in such a fun way. The session with Business Beat was the absolute highlight of our annual off-site, with lots of super enthusiastic reactions from employees."
How do you ensure rhythm in your organisation?
