PERCUSSION WORKSHOPS FOR COMPANIES

During a live concert, the individual virtuosity of the musicians is important but secondary to the quality of the group as a whole. Just like a company, it comes down to cooperation, communication, trust and leadership. Even the smallest mistake can be disastrous for the listening audience (the customer). Rhythm is the foundation here, the universal language for all musicians. This is why the drummer often acts as the leader of the band (did you know?). He or she sets the tempo and "the feel" and initiates musical transitions. The drummer is a team member, leader and communicator all in one. In our workshop, we use these roles. The participants have to perform a group effort by rehearsing and performing a piece of music together. An example they will often use on later occasions when it comes to teamwork.
Music stimulates teamwork, communication and leadership
WORKSHOP
We work together on a percussion piece and eventually perform it together in the workshop. By actively playing together and using the many musical instruments, the participants experience in an intensive and musical way what teamwork, leadership and clear communication mean. In addition, music stimulates their creavity and muscle movement.
We use different types of percussion instruments that complement each other. Each instrument, and therefore each participant, plays an important role in the piece of music. So 'drumming along' in the background is not an option. Commitment and cooperation are required. Led by the workshop leader and his team, the participants work in groups on their musical contribution. This requires them to listen to each other and work with their hands and feet. Multi-tasking, in other words. For many, it will feel like driving a car again for the first time.
The workshop can be a stand-alone event but can also be used as a practical and fun part of a training, team-building session, off-site meeting, cultural program or celebration.

CAROLINA CALZOLARI - Program Manager THNK
"The Business Beat drumming session led by Juan was a beautiful experience in our leadership program. After two days of exploring very logical and technical topics in our program, the percussion workshop assisted our participants (and myself) to feel more grounded and connected with our hearts. The session was playful and fun and helped us explore the vulnerability of trying to learn something new together - I highly recommend it!"
